Haha! Christiane! The original fabric is all stitched up inside, so I can't take a photo. It's gross, though, really...super heavy and thick, kind of shiny, and textured.

I'll be sure to document it when I replace the cushions. :)

Ok, call me morbidly curious, but I really want to see the original fabric! I trust that it is truly hideous, but I want to see it anyway ;-)

Lovely new chairs! I'm so glad that you showed this temporary wrapping solution. The cushions on my chair and sofa that are similar in design are in bad need of reupholstering. This may be the solution for now.

[...] Hmmm. Another contender in SofaQuest 2007? We went to the store and sat in it last night, and it is really super comfy. I worry about the quality of the leather, though (it seemed thin, but maybe it’s just really soft?), and I’m not in love with the legs. We have a dark floor, though, so it’s possible the legs would get lost visually anyway. Hmmm. I would definitely look good with the new chairs. [...]

I sat in this distressed-leather sofa with down cushions over the weekend, and it was HEAVEN. Not my style, but it was seriously the most comfortable sofa I've ever climbed into. It's also 4 feet deep! Evan lay down on it, and it looked like he was being eaten alive.

It does look good. I believe I am getting a "recycled leather" sofa and chair fairly shortly, I am tired of my living room furniture, and tired of vacuuming pet hair off of it.

I don't think so, but it really depends on what we decide to do about a sofa. I used the linen mainly because I already had a ton of it on hand, and it does look good with everything. :)

Those are very nice chairs. Do you think you will have the permanent seat cushions made out of the same linen?
