Actually, none of my finds are from NYC! The secret to good scavenging is to hit the thrifts and antique stores and yard sales (and Craigslist) everywhere else, where there’s less competition.
theonly: We have a car. It’s not necessary for commuting to Manhattan from Newburgh, but it’s absolutely necessary for everything else (grocery shopping, etc.). I don’t have a license, though (I’ve actually never driven), so my husband does all the driving.
I hope you post some of those good finds so I can continue to be envious of your proximity to NYC and all of the great shopping there!
