theonly: We have a car. It's not necessary for commuting to Manhattan from Newburgh, but it's absolutely necessary for everything else (grocery shopping, etc.). I don't have a license, though (I've actually never driven), so my husband does all the driving.

How do you get things like this home? Do you rent a Zipcar? Or do you find it's necessary to own a car in Newburgh?

Actually, none of my finds are from NYC! The secret to good scavenging is to hit the thrifts and antique stores and yard sales (and Craigslist) everywhere else, where there's less competition.

But yes, photos to come. :)

I hope you post some of those good finds so I can continue to be envious of your proximity to NYC and all of the great shopping there!
