What kind of dog is Bruno?

Your garden is awesome… We just installed a new Cedar fence after a rough storm and I finally started sealing/staining it today. Your home and dogs are lovely and keep me inspired to add to my husband and I’s first little house (bought in March).

Hi Anna,

I only discovered your blog fairly recently and have been reading back through the archives. Let me say that when you read it all at once it feels as though you have achieved everything super quickly! Having said that, because you are feeling so stressed at the moment, you should take a minute to look back at what you have achieved since you guys moved in and pat yourself on the back – because it truly is amazing.

I was wondering how you were getting on with your lovely little garden. Have you managed to keep everything you planted alive? (I ask because as hard as I try, I seem to have a bit of a brown thumb….). I am in Australia and we are in the midst of a terrible drought with tough water restrictions – so planning a garden (like I am for our home) takes on a whole new dimension. I know you already have a plan for your garden, but below is a link to a site that provides tremendous inspiration for me. Brendoar Moar has a show here on the Lifestyle Channel and I am in love with his work, particularly the interesting things he comes up with in terms of hardscaping. Have a look at some of the ‘after’ shots (in all your spare time!).

Oh, so sorry for your sofa, I know the feeling, my cats kind of ruined the side cuschions (leather) of our Bruno Mathsson Pernilla chair. My husband ususally whines about all the damage the cats do to our sofa and his loudspoeakers, but this one we don’t even mention. It is too much. We just pretend it didn’t happen. So we can go on loving our cats.

I SO know what you are talking about! I’m about ready to throw in the towel, close my bedroom door and not open it until spring. As it is I will spending the weekend skim coating the bedroom walls and praying it won’t take as long as I know it will. I haven’t felt this down or frustrated since I don’t know when. Sorry for using your blog to vent. I don’t know when everything spun out of control, but I hope it spins back soon. I can’t wait to see what you do with the downstairs bathroom! Your plans for it look amazing!
