People have been shooting fireworks in my neighborhood in Seattle since 6pm! And I am finishing off my bottle of Veuve Cliquot right now! I am teary eyed and thrilled and hopeful and everything is right in the world right now…

  • Reply Anna at D16 November 5, 2008 at 12:32 am

I want to second your comment, Chrispito! Kyle, it means a lot to see a comment like that. I hope there are other McCain supporters out there who are ready to move forward with Obama, especially given the shift of seats in Congress. It’s so important that ALL parties are willing to work together for change — it doesn’t come from one person!

  • Reply Kyli November 5, 2008 at 12:42 am

  • Reply Fiona November 5, 2008 at 7:51 am

YES WE CAN! I’m so excited. I don’t expect Obama to be a miracle worker; he’s inheriting a hell of a situation. But his election is a start!

  • Reply lindsay November 5, 2008 at 8:19 am

Honestly, I voted for the other guy. (Neither of them would’ve been my first choice) I simply thought McCain would be the better candidate at this time. However, I feel so many people are extremely supportive of Obama, and we need a president the country wants to believe in. Just because McCain didn’t win, doesn’t mean his supporters lose their voices. No one can expect our future president to do it all. It’s up to individuals, families, and states to do their part to change our country for the better. Knowing that individual actions make a difference should make us all feel empowered…regardless if the guy we voted for won or not.

  • Reply fee verte November 5, 2008 at 8:28 am

Good luck to Obama: your previous president left such a mess…anyway, I’m happy for your country and would like to be proud of my president as well…but France seemed not really ready for this good change!
It would definitely change the face of America from an european point of view. Let’s see!

  • Reply stacey November 5, 2008 at 8:56 am

excellent photo choice, i think a way a man loves his family says so much about how he lives his life. obama has a sincerity you just can’t fake. my heart feels so full and i feel hopeful about the future of this country for the first time .

  • Reply Elena November 5, 2008 at 8:58 am

Words cannot express the joy and pride I’m filled with on this day. We (U.S.) had the opportunity to choose change and we chose change! Its not only about the African American race its also about our country’s (majority of the country) dedication and determination to move forward… TOGETHER! Its such a beautiful thing… If this election outcome doesn’t inspire you, I don’t know what will.
