Christmas 2008.

Last night, Evan suggested that my siblings, my mother and I recreate the photo I posted yesterday. We did our best, but only my brother Gordy was able to truly capture the essence of his expression from the original. The rest of us look too happy! I think I had the biggest challenge, though—I just don’t fit on my mother’s lap so nicely anymore. Other than that, I think the 33 years between the photos have treated us all pretty well.

Gordy, Mommy, me, Lisa, Sarah, Melissa.

And us in 1975.

What a wonderful idea. A very good looking group present day and 33 years ago. A family photo worth the fireplace mantel.

Adorable idea! I am impressed by how good your mom looks in both pics. In the bottom one, she has five kids, including a baby, and still manages to look pulled together and cute (and thin!) Impressive!

This is so fantastic! My own mother does this with her siblings every year based on a portrait they have of them from the 50s. In the end, this is what the holidays are all about.

(Happy to have found your blog through Apt Therapy and happy new year!)
