Four Legs + I Want This

Get your sloth on.

Happy Friday, everybody! Let’s make like these guys and do some serious lounging this weekend.

Baby two- and three-toed sloths at the Aviaros del Caribe sloth orphanage in Costa Rica. Seriously painful cuteness happening here. Siiiiiigh.

Oh yeah. That video makes me want to just drop everything and move to Costa Rica and work with sloths!! And then I realized sloths probably don’t need a librarian. Ah well.

I love the “Lady and the Tramp” moment and the one who reminds me of Yoda sitting in the wicker swing. Sigh.

That was one of the best videos ever. And a great choice for the background music.

Just wanted to say good on you for posting on JSF’s book – I understand the impulse to shy away from topics in your blog for a whole range of reasons, so that was a brave thing to do there.

I was a teenage vegetarian and became a vegan in my early 20s almost entirely on environmental grounds as well as cruelty to animals. I stayed vegan until 29 when I turned for a sausage – of all things! I slowly started eating meat again and I relate very strongly to your thoughts on how you felt and how you rationalised your decision.

So just wanted to say great post. I’m back to a largely vegan diet now but still eating fish and chicken. I’m lucky to live somewhere that has locally farmed organic and free range holdings that are small and sustainable so will keep eating some meat.

Another good book to read is The Omnivores Dilemma – you probably already know it. Sounds like it covers a lot of similar ground to JSF’s.

Anyway, thanks again – a thoughtful post

Awesome video! The last time I was in Costa Rica, traffic was stopped for .5 miles because a sloth was trying to cross the road. This video reminded me of that and made me laugh 🙂

so seriously cute, and I swear I know someone who looks just like the “bandit eyed” one at the end, crazy.
