Four Legs + Music + Movies + Books

Marcel the Shell With Shoes On.

My sister Sarah sent me this little animated short, and I’m so glad she did, because it’s kind of the best thing ever. I love Marcel. I’m going to mark this post in the “four legs” category, even though Marcel only has two legs. Actually, he might not have any. It’s possible that he only has shoes. Which is all right with me.

Marcel is voiced (untreated & unenhanced) by a genius named Jenny Slate

I kind of want to gen manipulate a tiny, itty bitty little dog for Marcel, and I am normally against the gen manipulation of animals….

Okay, I KNOW I already commented, but this has become a problem. I’ve shared this video and watched it so many times the last few days that I think Marcel is providing the voice of my conscience. ob-sessed. Jenny might just bring me back to SNL.

I was just saying to Evan that I’m of the mind that watching Marcel should be a regular part of one’s daily routine:

    – take shower
    – brush teeth
    – watch Marcel
    – walk dogs

    OH. MY. GOD.

this is way too cute/sweet for me. i don’t even know how to handle extreme amounts of adorableness like this.

My kids thought this was hilarious and had to watch it three times. They were in fits of giggles, although I had to explain what a lentil was!! Alan the lint dog reminded me of the bit of sock fluff they found floating in the bath and decided to adopt and call it Dot.

Each time I got to the part where she’s walking her lint dog, Moxie (my non-lint dog), lifted her head from her slumber. Very cute.

  • Reply Grumble Girl September 23, 2010 at 8:36 pm

Okay, I think that’s one of the best things I’ve seen in a long, long time… hee!!

  • Reply Ashley October 15, 2010 at 11:05 am
