I Want This

Pretty things on my Etsy wishlist.

Geometrical Illusion pouch from CORIUMI

I love how delicate this pouch looks despite the geometric print. Big zippered pouches like this are great for organizing stuff inside of larger bags, and I can’t seem to stop buying them! Fancy people who go to fancy events (I’m not one of those people) could even use this one as a clutch, too. Have you ever looked at the CORIUMI shop? There are all kinds of nice things for sale in all different colors.

Collages and prints from Edu Barba

I first spotted Spanish artist Edu Barba’s work hanging in the kitchen at Manhattan Nest. A bunch of them have a Dadaist sensibility that’s really appealing to me. Three is my favorite number and I’m a sucker for soft textures and subtle geometric forms, so this guy is coming home to live with me. I have a feeling more will follow.

Color block iPhone cases from Blissful Case

Yeah, these have Anna written all over them, I know. These two are my favorites, but there are a bunch of cute, reasonably-priced options in the Blissful Case shop. I like having a few “clothing” options for my iPhone—less for protection than for fun, I guess.

Brass himmeli mobile from Veronika Maria

I saved this himmeli mobile for last because I’m completely obsessed with it. Traditionally these Finnish mobiles are made of straw and used as Christmas decorations, but this one is built from thin brass tubing and would really look incredible hanging all year round. It’s not in my budget, alas, but I can still admire it from afar. If you buy it, send me a picture if it in your house so I can feel envious!

p.s. Last year I wrote about himmeli made of stirrer-straws from AMradio over at Honey Kennedy. I love them, too!

All product photos from the respective shops linked beneath them.

Oh, yes, super good choice with Edu Barba’s prints. I own three of them (the geometric one you show on the right is among them) and ansolutely love his work!! And your other picks are awesome as well (the pouch is not exactly “me” I think, too playful I guess, but pretty anyway).

I’ve been looking at Edu Barba’s prints for a couple weeks, and I think I’m finally pulling the trigger on “Truth is Fire” http://www.etsy.com/listing/97300081/truth-is-fire-extra-large-illustration
I think it’ll be a nice starting point to the horribly naked walls in my bedroom.

Great Etsy list! It’s nice to see some really creative and worth while shops are still getting the shout-outs they deserve. Sometimes Etsy is overpopulated with crap (sorry, but it’s true), and it’s kind of magical when you stumble across some pretty incredible things, like you did.

When ever I see black and white triangles on Etsy, or dipped neon things, I think of you. http://www.etsy.com/shop/bookhouathome and http://www.etsy.com/shop/WindandWillowHome are pretty lovely shops you might like to check out.

Thanks, Laura! I saw those bowls on sfgirlbybay last week and instantly fell in love. Did you see the post I did about Bookhou a few months ago? Their triangle bag is indeed one of my favorite things! Good eye. 😉

Stumbled across your blog while looking up home design stuff and I love it! I was especially drawn to it because of the vegan food pictures. Just out of curiousity, since I noticed this is a leather purse, are you only vegan in diet? Just want to know what to expect if I see something featured that I like.

    • Anna @ D16 June 15, 2012 at 8:39 am

I don’t call myself vegan anything, but I only eat vegan food. I believe in living on a more holistic spectrum that involves making personal choices about consumption of goods on an individual basis, and with consideration for the animal, human, and environmental impact of those goods (for example, I would much rather buy one pair of well-made leather shoes that will last 20 years than buy 20 pairs of synthetic shoes—usually manufactured under appalling conditions—that will wind up in a landfill). What you should primarily expect is to see what’s interesting to me in a way that I want to share it with others—no more, no less.
