I’ve been a fan of South Africa-based textile designer Heather Moore’s work as Skinny laMinx for YEARS. Her storefront in Cape Town and her online Etsy shop are home to an amazing collection of her bold, graphic illustrations printed on everything from cushions to children’s clothes to prints and cards to fabric by the yard. She even sells textile scraps for all sorts of uses!

I’ve always coveted the Flower Field pattern so I’d get a few yards of that and just hoard it for years until I had just the right use for it!
Also, I’d probably spring for the Alexander Sack in the Wild Flowers pattern!

  • Reply Lindsay McCain November 22, 2013 at 1:33 pm

    My favorites are-
    Pinny Apron – Mushrooms
The Alexander Sack – Wild Flowers
Flower field, in Rosy – Tablecloth

I love everything! I’d even consider a holiday to South Africa so I could visit the shop! I love the pebble print and the soft bucket products – these would look great in my bathroom. I also love the screen prints and as a spectacle wearer would love the eye chart print and postcards. Heather has quite a following, I’ve chatted to follow fans here in the UK; what’s not to love?!

  • Reply Niki November 22, 2013 at 1:36 pm

Lovely stuff! I really like the mushroom tea towel and apron, the pebble fabric, and the “eep” birds!

LOVE anything with the woodpile print — soft buckets, pillows, tote, etc!

  • Reply Jill November 22, 2013 at 1:46 pm

I’m pretty sure I first learned about this shop from you!

I sew, so I would choose some fabric yardage (and I love that she sells scraps, too). I’d also get a cushion cover in the orange color way for instant gratification.

  • Reply belladonna November 22, 2013 at 2:45 pm

I have a hankering for pretty much anything with Smudge as a description of color, evokative of so many things, a glimpse of something rather than a literal description. I am drawn to its manifestation in cushion covers (especially woodpile), a skinny tote bag or a malamine tray with diamonds.

  • Reply Karen November 22, 2013 at 2:46 pm

The “Pincushions” table runner in olive and the “Woodpile” napkins in any color!

  • Reply Fat Cat November 23, 2013 at 5:03 am

OMG I wish I could buy everything ! I’ve been in love with Skinny Laminx designs for years (I own several tea towels – “fat lava” not surprisingly being my favourite – and her “pincushion” decal adorns my bedroom door).

Ok decision time… I think my favourite look is also the “afro-scandi” one (reminds me of my African art student days…), although I love the “oh my garden” patterns as well.

And particular items ? Definitely the “succulents” tea towel (in marrakesh green), “pinny apron with Brancusi stripes” (in wedgewood) and the “woodpile” cushion in pollen. Oh, and a special mention to the “cat sketches” postcard set !

  • Reply Hazy November 23, 2013 at 6:27 am

    Afro-Scandi wow!
Love all of the yardage and the trays – particularly the inkspot rough diamond

  • Reply Anayara Cabrera November 23, 2013 at 6:32 am

I do love almost everything, but if I had to choose, I’d buy the cheeky apron in orange, the gift wrap paper in black and white, The yellow soft buckets (reeeally love those ones!), the turquoise wipe clean placemat and the skinny tote bag f flower fields in black.

I am a big fan of Heather. I have purchased some of my favorite pillows and tea towels from her Etsy shop. It is very hard to choose favorites, but I like the pebble fabric a lot. I want to buy enough of it to re-do a couple of mid-century chairs I am restoring. I also love the melamine trays, so graphic, bold and sunny.

  • Reply Katherine Charles November 25, 2013 at 2:44 am

I love the Mushroom tea towels in peat, and the “everyone came to tea” tea towels too. And love the Bigger Bag in Brancusi Stripe design, such a great mix of modern and handmade. Also, I love the Alexander tote/sack called “Herds in hide grey.” Thanks for doing this! Good luck to everyone!

Alexander sack is best! I love the grey Herds on it… Also the cushion covers with Herds pattern in red and grey, anything with Abacus pattern, anything with Orla especially those adorable little smock dresses, the pincushion tea towels… the list goes on.

Currently on my wish list are:

    – A good few metres of either birch or bowls (I’m looking for a vintage chair to cover)
    – A big stack of cushions – I’m looking for greys, blacks and yellows. But I’m struggling to narrow down which ones.
    – Some scraps in greys. (It would be nice to make a few small things for presents.)
    – Tea towels, everyone needs more tea towels and I think some mushrooms in peat would make my kitchen a happier place.
    – Some laser cut gift tags and a youmakemesmile card (the latter for someone who makes me smile)

I could go on as there’s much more I’d like. Heather is a print genius.

Oh man I have to pick a favorite?!

Cushion Covers in “Herd” & “Woodpile”
Soft Bucket pair – Rough Diamond, in inkspot (!!!)

Love the soft buckets but–no place! Instead, fabric by the metre (orla, solid orla, or woodpile) and postcards (pincushion, wildflowers). The combination of her graphic sense and the non-pure colors is wonderful. Oooh, forgot the cat shadow giclee. 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity with this giveaway.

I love the fabric! I’ve been looking for a great patterned fabric to recover my dining room chairs. The Brancusi stripes are great!

Oh and, the silkscreened eye chart. Love it.

    Fingers crossed!

Everything’s delicious but my faves would be the Cloudbirds cushion covers and the Skinny Tote with Bowls print. Thanx for this cool giveaway!

    The Skinny Tote – Bowls

I love the skinny or Alexander tote in Flower Fields penny black, round tray in pollen ‘woodpile’, and the cushion cover in bowls (lemon).

O.M.G.!!! The cushions! I’d love any (or all!) the cushions… They can be from any of the fabric designs… Pebble, Woodpile, Bowls, Rough Diamond… Seriously, not fussed, would be totally happy with any 🙂 🙂 🙂

I was thrilled to be able to visit the shop in Cape Town this August. It was hard to narrow down what to purchase.
Everything is fabulous but I’d really like to get some of her Soft Buckets and the Alexander Sack in Herds.

Aprons and soft buckets and cushions oh my!!!

I’d probably have to spend a long time deciding how best to spend those $100.. And would likely end up having to cough up some $$$ from my own pocket to round things out.

    Here’s hoping!

I was just communicating with Heather on Etsy last week, after seeing her great woodpile napkins at a store in Los Angeles! I like the runner in woodpile (the yellow color) and the bowls cushion cover in all three colors–gray, yellow, orange! Totally up my alley. I have another Skinny Laminx cushion and it has held up beautifully.

So hard to choose! I have loved the tea towels for a long time, especially “borrowed spoons.” I also like the “eep book bag,” pretty much ever cushion cover, and the fabric by the yard. Thanks so much for the chance to win!
