Art + Design + I Design Stuff

Leaves + Dots, D16-style.

k is for black leaves + dots

The other day, I decided I wanted to make myself a new iPhone case to match the new D16 site design. And then I thought a mug might be nice, too…and maybe a tote bag…and hey, how about a clock for my office? So I just kept going, and now it’s all in my shop.

I love the clock design! What’s your current opinion on case quality? I have been eyeing a new iPhone case and had mixed results with my previous two cases.

Hi Abigail, aside from the design wearing off around the edges over time, I’ve had good luck with Society6 cases. No cracking or sharp edges or any of the previous issues I had with the older design.

It’s worth noting that I still have an iPhone 5, though. I really can’t speak to whether the cases for the iPhone 6/6s are any different, or about any of the other phone cases they have to choose from.

Really like seeing the moiré patterns in the leaves! Crazy to think about how many times I tried to get rid of those.

They’re actually just enlarged halftone dots, there’s no moiré pattern happening here. Two different things that can sometimes overlap—pun intended. 😉

As we used to sing in my offset printing class, “When new lines hit your eye from two screens when they ply, that’s a moiré!”
