Haircut results!

This isn’t the greatest photo of my new hair because it’s sort of tucked to the side so it looks shorter in the back than it actually is, but I’m very happy with how it came out. Of course it looked more perfectly perfect immediately after the appointment (hairdressers have that special blow-drying skill that I have yet to master in my own home), but this is day-after reality!

Pattie at Soon Beauty Lab was great, and the whole experience was definitely worth repeating. It was also one of the cheapest haircuts I’ve had in my life ($50!), so I really don’t have any excuse for not going back to get regular trims. I have to stop with the late-night self-trims. She could tell that I’d been butchering it!

A side bonus of Soon is that they are dog-friendly. There was a very, very sweet little Havanese (I think she may have been a mix, because she was tiny) named Boo snoozing on the chair next to me the whole time. People who love dogs and think they should be a part of everyday working life automatically get extra good-person points from me!

You look beautiful. The hair, make-up….it all comes together to form a very edgy but polished look. I really like the bangs. I am in love with bangs so I am always interested in a hairdo that really works with them.

I love it!!!! It looks edgy but pretty and just perfect for your face. I do think you should give Tegan & Sara’s music another chance though. I love them. :)

The cut is great, you really have the cheekbones to pull off such a blunt fringe. But what I really want to know is what lipstick you’re wearing.

Aww, thanks for all the nice comments, everybody. :) My hair got a little “flippy” at the ends as the day wore on, but I think if I buy a better flatiron I won’t have that problem. And I want it to be shorter! I’ll go back in a month and have it chopped a little more.

Adam: We did talk about color, and her best advice was for me to wait SIX MONTHS without dying it (I don’t know if I can do that…), and then try stripping it to blonde. OR…we could chance it and try to do it now. I haven’t made up my mind yet.

Rach: Cheekbones?! I don’t have cheekbones, I have a face like a honeydew melon! But thank you, I guess my blush is doing what it’s supposed to do. ;)Oh, and on my lips I’m wearing Stila Cherry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain with Urban Decay XXX Shine Lip Gloss in Guys Love Betsy on top.

OMG, Anna, I was JUST thinking that I finally need to go get a haircut after 1 year of butchering it on my own. I think I will have to try Soon, as I really really dislike spending money on haircuts, but my hair is just out of control. Was it really 50 dollars? Did you go to the 22nd or East 11th location? And you would recommend it? Maybe I’ll schedule a birthday haircut this week!

it looks lovely. isn’t it funny how you can get so nervous about a cut, and then you’re left wanting it to be even more of an extreme change? there’s something really addictive about it.

and i can’t recommend a high quality flat iron enough. i just couldn’t do what i do with my hair (and still have my stylist complimenting me on the health of it) without one. i have used the same babyliss flat iron for years and years now and am still utterly delighted with it. with my new shorter cut (barely chin-length) it’s really quick but mandatroy in ensuring i don’t get the stubborn flip action in the back.

Six months with NO DYEING??? I don’t know if I could do it, but it would probably be the best way to guarantee minimum damage to your hair. Maybe you could compromise and wait 3 months? I would have gray streaks down to my shoulders if I waited 6 months. My hair is getting so long, I don’t know how long I want it to be, so I guess I’ll let it keep growing.

I like the cut and also the black colour on you… But why do you hate your natural colour so much? Is it something like a dark blonde? Maybe it would look good too.

  19. Lauren April 14th, 2008 8:34 am

I love it Anna! The blunt bangs look great. And the makeup!

  20. kristin April 14th, 2008 8:53 am

AH! I’m so happy that you went to Pattie!! She’s my all time favorite :) She has the most lovely tattoos as well. And the head massages they give when the wash your hair- heaven.

    You look lovely!

  21. kristin April 15th, 2008 6:42 am

oh, and by the way you can go back in for trims and I think that they’re like $15 or something.
