Friends + Family

To Arizona and back in seven photos.

Evan and I are back from a long weekend spent in Carefree, Arizona for a friend’s wedding.

A series of errors on the part of the car rental company culminated in us riding around in a red Ford Mustang. If there were ever a car less suited to our personalities, this is probably it.

The upside was the satellite radio. I still can’t believe I actually heard “This Corrosion” on the radio (introduced by Richard Blade, no less) in 2009.

From Evan: “That Mustang made me feel like an underage joyrider. Since I could barely see over the wheel, the entire car was a blind spot. Note to Ford: Please post height requirements on all vehicles.”

The desert gets COLD at night! I was not prepared. We made s’mores.

The best part about leaving New York is coming back (even if you fly into New Jersey).

I’d have stayed in Phoenix – it looks beautiful!

Love that there´s a place in this world called Carefree. You look very pretty!

Was the Mustang fun to drive at least? Your bangs look great. And looks like a *beautiful* ceremony site!

I don’t drive, so all can say is that the passenger seat was way too low to be comfortable. 😀

BIG thumbs up on the satellite radio, though! I’d be campaigning for a subscription if we spent more than 3 minutes in the car on a daily basis.

LOL!! You and Evan in a red Ford Mustang, the thought of it makes me laugh…
The desert creates a stunning setting for a wedding – there’s nothing more beautiful than mother nature.

Too funny! The only way I can see it being any better is if it were a red CONVERTIBLE Mustang!

And yes, Sirius radio is just the best! Satelite sanity for us in cars for any length of time each day!

beautiful photos! we ended up with a white convertible while on our honeymoon in new mexico. while not at all our personal style it was fun for the setting and situation.

Love the first pic of the wing. It looks so serene to me. On a different note, wondering if you’ve seen this yet. It’s amazing. He’s a student at Yale University. I think MJ would have loved this.

Hah! Carefree is about two minutes away from me. Living in Cave Creek now. I’ve fallen in love with Arizona. No more cold as hell New England winters for me.

I’m in love with Arizona. I spent my honeymoon there and I would move there in a heartbeat. The tarantulas are scary though.
I highly recommend satellite radio – I’ve had it for years and get a lot of use out of it, especially sitting in traffic on the weekends!

Arizona is so beautiful, love the photos.

PS: how do you get your bangs to cooperate so nicely? Mine seem to always lie flat sideways and they don’t keep their volume.

    Dark Wave on Sirius rules!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! And what a great name for a town… I’d love to live there simply for the name! =)

    2. You and Evan are a really good looking couple!!!!
    3. Very happy to see you posting so much lately 🙂 🙂

Evan’s description there is a hoot, Anna. I would love to see a video of you two riding in it, underwhelmed. Or perhaps overwhelmed. See, I actually love Ford Mustangs (not red, especially, nor the boxier fastback types), though they don’t really have the same association in Australia. They were imported, so a little exotic. Oh here I am going on like I’m talking to Wheels magazine … heee.

A belated happy birthday no. 34. You look sublime!

We don’t have tv at home so we’ve got the satelite radio on at all times in the house. It really is fun and so refreshing not to have ads and traffic reports.
    beautiful photos Anna!

Lived in Phoenix. Hated it. Moved to Seattle. LOVED it. Now in Central California. Ambivalent. But the pictures were great!!!! Funny about the Mustang. We have XM radio in the car, the glass shop and my office. It’s great.
