Happy New Year!

newyear_600.jpg

From me, Evan, Bruno and Fritz: Happy New Year! Here’s to 2011 being a year of health, wellness, snacks, Moomins, organized closets, laughter, good design, good movies, good books, friends old and new, family, piles of blankets next to the radiator, and a decent cup of coffee whenever you need one.

Party animals that we are, we’re spending the night at home eating nachos, drinking wine and…painting the living room! Of course.

For some reason, painting at night is more fun. Or, at least more amusing. I am curious as to what color you’re painting it!

  • Reply cottageofstone December 31, 2010 at 7:25 pm

    I am guessing black! 🙂

We’re painting, too. But it’s pale salty blue in the baby’s room.

    “organized closets, laughter, good design…”
    My sentiments exactly!!! ;^)

Me three. I am painting my bathroom orange and grey, eating pizza and reflecting/documenting all my house traumas and successes of the past year. Love your new hallway and happy new year.

    Also at home just chilling.
We spent LAST New Years painting our dining room.
It’s much more fun with alcohol 🙂

Sounds like a great time, you and your guys…and you get to cross one more thing off your to do list before the end of the year! Thanks for this year of blogging and all the inspiration you’ve given, and for answering all my sometimes, somewhat silly questions…..like, where did you get The Cure poster??? I’ve been searching……..

    Happy New Year!

    • Anna @ D16 December 31, 2010 at 11:06 pm

Sue, the Cure poster was a free giveaway with preorders of the 3IB reissue in 2004. I’m not sure where you can find one now…maybe eBay?

Happy New Year to you too ! What better way to start the new year than reading your wonderful blog with a good cup of coffee in one hand and a butter croissant in the other (and a snoring cat on your lap) ?!

Painting at night is fab 🙂 Unfortunately for me, that is the only way I ever get to paint. Have to wait until the little monster is in bed.

Cant wait to see the results 🙂

I think this is the year everyone I know decided to stay home. I curled up with my dog and watched New York I love You (terrible; not even close to half as good as Paris I love You) and The Single Man. Thanks for blogging and Happy New Year to you and your readers.

Happy New Years to you and everyone else living behind Door Sixteen!

Quick question: What font did you use for the sign/card? I keep seeing it or ones like it around, and it has very much grown on me.

  • Reply Grace January 6, 2011 at 12:49 am

    Hi Anna!
Happy holidays and Happy New Year 🙂 Love your blog and the transformation of both your homes.

Quick question, I’m wondering what font you’re using for the Happy New Year on the photo? looks perfect, especially next to that sassy Hippo statue 😉 Thanks, Anna!

    Cheers,
    Grace

    • Anna @ D16 January 6, 2011 at 5:36 am

The font is called Hannah—there’s a link in the reply to the comment right above yours.

      And that’s a Moomin, not a hippo! 🙂
