Wow, your mom has glowing, beautiful skin. I can’t believe you got your her to model
a Morrissey scarf. My mom would say, “Isn’t this that guy from that band whose music you used to mope around in your room to?”

  • Reply Malinowich January 12, 2011 at 8:27 pm

My friend Christian is a huge Morrisey-fan. He, his friends and his mother travel around Europe to watch Moz as often as possible. She is 63!

    • Anna @ D16 January 12, 2011 at 11:17 pm

One of these days I’d like to drag my mother to a Morrissey concert. 🙂

  • Reply Lori E. January 12, 2011 at 11:22 pm

Your mom looks so lovely in the pictures but I think the warmth that exudes from her is what really captures me. What prompted the photo shoot?

    • Anna @ D16 January 12, 2011 at 11:30 pm

I told her I’d give her $10 if she modeled my new Morrissey scarf for me!!

  • Reply Natalie January 13, 2011 at 1:58 am

Cool mom! (“is that your sister?”)
and thanks for the Moz link (i would like to warm myself with this scarf!)…

  • Reply Beatriz January 13, 2011 at 5:04 am

Love the paint on the back. It could be great if you could you it to us.
I like your blog and the way you post your ideas and your day-to-day.
Let me tell you that I’m one of those buying books by its cover, I really really like book cover design too.

    • Anna @ D16 January 13, 2011 at 8:34 am

The painting is actually my mother’s work! In addition to being a Morrissey scarf model, she’s an artist and designer. 🙂

  • Reply megan January 13, 2011 at 9:54 am

    your mother is quite lovely!

  • Reply thisismycat January 14, 2011 at 2:06 am

I almost wrote that your mother was “hot”, but that wouldn’t be appropriate! Let’s just agree that she is a “vacker kvinna”. Ha ha

  • Reply mommy January 14, 2011 at 4:09 pm

Ha, ha, I may have to increase my fee! Never mind that I cleverly sent only the pictures where my chin is cleverly hidden and the lighting just so.

  • Reply Jennifer January 14, 2011 at 6:11 pm

Your mother is awesome! My mom wouldn’t even have a clue who Morrissey was although she probably would rock a Ben Affleck scarf if I gave her one.

  • Reply Suzen January 15, 2011 at 11:07 am

Wowy Zowey! Did this woman give birth to you when she was like, 8? I love that you have her on your blog and that you obviously love her so much! She looks like someone who would be a lot of fun and good to know on a lot of levels, including being really easy on the eyes!

    • Anna @ D16 January 15, 2011 at 2:47 pm

My mother is really one of the most fantastic people I know. Yes, I may be biased, but it really is true…she’s awesome in ways I can’t even count.

(Oh, and can you believe I have a brother 10 years older than me? I hope I age as well as my mother has. I think she might actually have started going in reverse at some point…)

  • Reply Megan Sommerville January 15, 2011 at 1:29 pm

your mom is super cute! who did the painting in the background? it’s really gorgeous…

  • Reply jja January 16, 2011 at 9:36 am

Can you post a high-resolution picture of your mother’s painting? It is just so lovely and I am starting to learn to paint and thought I could try and copy it if that’s alright.
