I Want This

Pretty things on my Etsy wishlist.

doorsixteen_etsywishlist_hindsvik

Bright green and black vintage wool blanket from Hindsvik

With any luck we’ll be heading out of wool blanket territory soon (28°F in the third week of March? Ugh!), but you know me and blankets. I really love the intense green of this vintage striped one from Hindsvik. Bright green looks so great with pale wood and black/white interiors!

doorsixteen_etsywishlist_snugstudio

snug.abc poster from Snug Studio

The shapes that make up the alphabet in this poster from Snug Studio are based on the shape of classic building blocks—like the ones I’m playing with in this photo! The next time I know someone who’s having a kid, this is what they’re getting from me.

doorsixteen_etsywishlist_urbanwalls

Plus Sign vinyl wall decals from UrbanWalls

I don’t really think of myself as being a wall decal person, but these guys from UrbanWalls are really appealing to me. They come in a whole bunch of color options, including GOLD! Can you imagine a bathroom covered in gold crosses on black walls? Swanky!! Or pale gray walls with white crosses? So pretty.

doorsixteen_etsywishlist_thiefbandit

✚ Hand printed Mountain leggings and Mountain pillow

I couldn’t choose between the leggings and the pillow, so I went with both. To be honest, though, I kind of want everything in the Thief & Bandit shop. (p.s. They have another shop full of amazing kids’ stuff, too!)

doorsixteen_etsywishlist_rawdezign

Festoon ceiling light set from Raw Dezign

This is such a simple idea, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it done before. This string of ceiling-mounted lights from Raw Dezign comes with hooks for hanging and a choice of 13 different colors of braided cloth cord. You can contact them directly if you’re interested in a different length, too.

What’s on your Etsy wishlist right now?

Love the blanket! And the mountain print pillow. I also love the mountain print leggings, but I’m not sure I’m bold enough to pull them off!! Super great list!

I think the festoon light is now on it;-) And pretty much everything from onefortythree (although I think he sells now more from his own website than from etsy?). And bookhou of course. I also like origami lampshades like this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/105638768/snowflake-origami-paper-lamp-shade?ref=shop_home_active.
You should do the cross decals, maybe in your new rental?

I always get so overwhelmed looking on etsy. How do you know where to start to look???

    • Anna @ D16 March 23, 2013 at 10:55 am

I look at treasuries from people whose taste I like, and that often turns into looking at other people’s favorite items, etc. Several of these shops are run by people whose blogs I’ve been reading for years, or who are friends of friends…and I never hesitate to ask about things when I’m in shops; a lot of times one handmade item with lead you to a whole word of other things!

I love that alphabet print…and find myself wishing it came in green! You see, I’m living rent free in an apartment in an undergrad (which I love! mentoring, muffins, disney movies, these things are meeee!) ….but I also am blessed with the purpleish multicolored “vomit” carpeting, ivory walls, and bright white/black ceiling tiles (kiss of death, hey?). The way that I’ve found to work around it is not to make my place technicolor, but to balance it all out—then the ugly fades into the background. As such, there’s a spot in my apartment that just needs some green, and I’ve been trying desperately to find a piece to fill it. Vintage botanical chart? Love, but they’re all too small or too big. (I bought this one but I’d have to cut off an inch of each side to get it to fit into the frame, glorious mismeasurement, thanks!). Maybe an art deco poster? No, they’re all about absinthe, just doesn’t work. And I’ve perusing all sorts of sites to try and find some options, but the field is overwhelming. Any thoughts, oh graphic design goddess?

Unrelated to this post but THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting about the DWR Annex. My husband and I went this weekend and got a crazy deal on a marble topped Saarinen dining table. YOU ARE AMAZING! Thanks for the great recommendation.

    • Anna @ D16 March 24, 2013 at 7:59 pm

Oh, yay! That’s great. Yeah, I see Saarinen tables there all the time with very minor damage for really good prices. I got a chipped side table there myself a few years ago. 🙂

I’m loving this “compassionate” jewelry right now – Made in Brooklyn by Olivia Ewing. A portion of every sale goes to a good cause, like helping mothers in Africa or preserving habitat, which I think it is pretty cool. Do good, wear good, feel good. 🙂

DO NOT ORDER FROM RAW DEZIGN

I ordered two lamps for 156 GBP on 9/10/13. They did not send the items. And they will not not refund my money – 4 months later. They stopped responding to me in October and both esty and paypal and my bank are after them. I will not stop until I get my money back. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE THIEVES.

Sorry to hear about this! Looks like their Etsy store is gone. Hope you’re able to get resolution…
